On the weekend of September 2, the foundation is holding its annual ball fundraiser at the Mittagong RSL.

Now in its 20^th year, the ball aims to support the Humour Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation, to continue to provide this free service to hospitals. 

Tickets are $99 and include a glass of champagne on arrival, a delectable three-course meal, and smooth tunes from Soulganic.

Dr Smarty Pants will MC the evening, which will feature guest speaker Marie Johnson. 

There will also be an auction and a car raffle drawn at the end of the evening. 

Di Jones Real Estate has taken on the event this year, after supporting the fundraiser since 2015. 

“Jan and Paul Stevens-Kings of the Humour Foundation have decided to take a step back this year and Di Jones has taken over the planning of the ball,” said Alexandra Hainsworth of Di Jones Real Estate. 

Ms Hainsworth said that the Clown Doctors provides an important service and the real estate agency hopes to continue the strong legacy of support, hope and smiles established by the Stevens-Kings.

“It’s a family-oriented charity and as most of our staff [at Di Jones] are parents, this is a cause that hits close to home and we’re happy to be a part of it,” she said. 

“They help families who have sick kids stay positive.”

They hope to have 250 people attend the ball to raise money for the foundation. 

Clown Doctors are “medical clowns” specially trained by The Humour Foundation to entertain sick children in hospital. The foundation relies exclusively on donations and fundraising to provide hospitals with the Clown Doctors program for free.

More than $1 million has been raised in the Highlands over the last 20 years for this special cause.

The ball will commence at 6:30pm on Saturday, September 2 at the Carrington Room at the Mittagong RSL, located on the Old Hume Highway.
