Colourful blooms and clever floral creations will abound in Bowral on the first weekend in spring. Highlands Garden Society will present its annual Camellia Show at the Bowral Uniting Church hall from 10am and 2pm on September 2.
Camellias flower, depending on the variety, from autumn through winter and then into spring and as they don’t mind frosts, they are grown widely in the Southern Highlands. The show provides the chance to view hundreds of colourful blooms – whites, pinks, reds and variegated - in more than 30 exhibition classes.
The Floral Art group of the society will exhibit many arrangements based on Camellias and there will be stalls with camellias and gardening items for sale. Devonshire Teas will also be available.
Entry fee is $5 and visitors are invited to bring their Camellia blooms for identification. Details: highlandsgardensociety.org.au
