►After more than eight decades of service, the Mittagong Country Women’s Association (CWA) continue to champion vulnerable members of the community.
This week the group donated $500 to two not-for-profit support services in Bowral, using money raised throughout the last financial year.
► Illegal dumping has become an ongoing issue in the Highlands and Meryla State Forest has become the latest dumping ground.
About two weeks ago a burnt out car was found by residents near Gunrock Creek in Meryla State Forest.
Highlanders raised concerns about how the car could potentially pollute Gunrock Creek and Bundanoon Creek Dam.
►Hume MP Angus Taylor has vowed to put pressure on energy retailers in lieu of extreme price hikes.
Mr Taylor said customers in the Highlands deserve fairer, more affordable plans. More here.
► Arabella McKenzie has won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games.
McKenzie represented Australia in the Under-18 Rugby 7s side recently.
The Frensham student was a part of a 32-woman squad that played on the island of New Providence in the Bahamas.
►Designs for the Station Street upgrade will be available to the public next week.
Councillors voted to put the plans on public exhibition at the August 9 meeting.
They also committed to a public meeting as part of the community engagement strategy.
►Wollondilly Polocrosse players Scarlett and Lily Geddes were selected to play in the 2017 zone championships at Warren.
The two played in the Central West Sub Junior team.
Players were selected from all clubs in the zone.

TRAFFIC: The Illawarra Highway on Macquarrie Pass will shut weekly – between 6am on Monday and 3pm on Friday – from July 24 until August 11, weather permitting.
