Highlander John Arrowsmith organised a charity golf day to raise money for Legacy in July.
Legacy is a voluntary organisation that provides services to around 70,000 families of veterans who have died or given their health.
Mr Arrowsmith is 66 years old and has been involved with Legacy since he was 12.
“My father was a WW1 veteran and when he passed away in 1963 Legacy looked after mum and I,” he said.
Arrowsmith said he decided to organise the event to give back to the organisation that helped his family so much.
The event was held at Gibraltar Golf Course and more than 54 players took part to raise $4560 for the charity.
Legacy Berrima representative John Jones accepted the funds on behalf of Legacy.
The next Legacy golf day will be held in April 2018. Highlanders will be enticed to play with invitations to the Australian Golf Club to be won.
