The consultation paper is designed to facilitate and inform discussions with customers on Endeavour Energy’s future directions and priorities.
Feedback on these plans is being sought by 1 September 2017 to help shape the regulatory proposal to be lodged with the Australian Energy Regulator in January 2018.
Endeavour Energy chief operating officer Rod Howard said the consultation paper was designed to facilitate and inform discussions with the public on the future directions and priorities of the company.
“It outlines our preliminary thinking about key elements of our plans to meet their priorities and to make long-term, efficient investment in the network,” he said.
“The AER will then assess our proposal, consider how well our plans respond to customers’ interests, and then decide on the efficient revenue we can recover from customers to fund our operations.”
Mr Howard said Endeavour Energy’s 2019-24 regulatory proposal was set against a backdrop of dramatic changes in the electricity supply industry.
“Customers are driving this change by embracing new technologies such as solar and energy storage and taking greater control of their energy bill through access to real time data about their energy use,’ he said.
“Amidst this transformation, affordability remains the key priority for our customers, while we also need to plan around 20,000 new customer connections each year, especially as the result of ongoing urban development in the North West and South West Priority Growth Areas of Sydney.”
