A severe weather warning has been issued for the NSW Southern Tablelands.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued the warning at 2:46 pm Tuesday, July 25.
People in Bowral, Wollongong, Nowra, Braidwood, Kiama and surrounding areas can expect strong winds.
“A front is expected to move through southeastern NSW early Wednesday morning. Strong winds are expected ahead of and with the front, easing later in the day,” the Bureau said.
Damaging winds, averaging 60 to 65 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible from about midnight along the Illawarra coast and higher parts of the ranges, easing on the coast in the early morning and later on the ranges.
The NSW State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
- Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
- Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid on 131 388, or Endeavour Energy on 131 003 or Essential Energy on 132 080, as shown on your power bill.
