Bowral Public School’s sesquicentenary will be celebrated in style in September.
A range of events including a Back to Bowral Ball have been organised.
The school has secured Craig Reucassel, as the MC for the night.
Craig is an alumni of Bowral Public School and is well known for his ABC TV career including, ‘The Chaser’ and the recent ‘War on Waste’ series.
As well as being entertained by Craig, guests will enjoy a three course meal, live music from the Baker Boys and a fundraising auction.
Other events include Family Open Days on September 7 and 8 as well as reunions and display events coinciding with the Bowral School Markets on the Saturday morning.
Bowral Public School principal Wendy Buckley said 150 was a great achievement.
“150 years of public education is something to be proud of. One of the things that makes Bowral Public School so special is its connection to the community,” she said.
“There are so many people in the community who want to help us celebrate.”
Ms Buckley said she hoped to see many former students at the two open days.
School council president, Nicole Smith encouraged everyone in the Highlands community to be part of the festivities.
“We are delighted to be celebrating our sesquicentary this year. Bowral Public School is an integral part of the community and we are lucky to have such exceptional educational standards for our children in the Highlands,” she said.
“The team have put on a fantastic range of events and the ball promises to be a fun night. We would love to see as many of the local community attend and celebrate with us.”
