Incoming president Deborah Barnes said the team would continue to support the animals at the shelter, but also place a strong focus on sharing progress with members, retailers and supporters.
“We’ll have a newsletter to detail exactly what we’ve spent, what we’ve done and so all our supporters know exactly where money’s being used,” she said.
“Tin counts will be posted on our Facebook page to announce which retailers have the most money in their tins.”
Kellie Neville has been elected as vice president, Nicky Van Der Sander as treasurer and Michele Martin as secretary.
The team has welcomed Clinton Fletcher, Helen Hackett and Alyse Tobler as committee members.
FOWAS members will walk Bong Bong Street again for this year’s Tulip Time parade, and have several other plans to stay in the forefront of the community’s mind.
“We’re expanding our support with the animal shelter to include other rescue organisations to create a wider support network for all of us,” Ms Barnes said.
Ms Barnes said FOWAS would continue to fund the role of dog trainer at the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter.
