Covered in grass, the ramp almost blends into the surrounding bush, making it hard to see.
Mr Park said he had raised the issue of regular maintenance before but was unimpressed that nothing had been done.
It will remain in its current state until the closure of Bulli Pass next month, according to a Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokeswoman
Mr Park said the condition of the ramp was a sign the government “doesn’t seem to give a damn” about the safety measures on the road.
“If a vehicle is forced to make an emergency stop due to mechanical failure, who knows what they are driving into,” Mr Park said.
“Bulli Pass is already a challenging road to come down, and heavy vehicles put enormous strain on their rigs to navigate this road.”
A Roads and Maritime Services spokeswoman said crews inspected the Bulli Pass, including the safety ramp, twice a week.
“Roads and Maritime plans to carry out work on the safety ramp during the upcoming closure of Bulli Pass for the second stage of safety work starting on Monday August 28,” the spokeswoman said.
“Work will involve a minor upgrade to the safety ramp and vegetation maintenance.”
The spokesman said ramps are designed for runaway vehicles to exit the road and safely reduce speed.
For that reason, the spokeswoman said it was not possible to carry out work on truck safety ramps under normal traffic conditions.
