The pass will close at 9am on that date until 3pm on November 3.
These are the original dates announced in March this year, ahead of seeking public feedback on the closure.
“Information collated after the community feedback has been used to help finalise the final traffic management and emergency response plans, minimising the impact on motorists,” an RMS spokesman said.
Work will take place day and night, with the pass temporarily reopening for the October long weekend.
That weekend the pass will reopen at 3pm on Friday, September 29 and close at 9am on Tuesday, October 3.
The second closure of the pass is to allow work to continue on the installation of rock fall fencing.
