The Southern Highlands Hawks returned from the mid-season break with wins over the Port Kembla Power in both the under-9s and under-11s.

The victories showed that the training and skills development at the club is starting to pay off.
The young players demonstrated a greater understanding of the positional play of the game and showed off their strengthening skills.
Under-9s coach Shannon Prideaux said it one of his team’s best games of the season.
“It was great win and the boys played very well,” he said.
Leading on from the win, Prideaux said the under-9s goal was to continue to improve.
“We are going to continue strengthening our skills and we will try to lead with the ball an run it on,” he said.
After several tough rounds and a lot of commitment the under-11s scored their first win of 2017.
Under-11s coach Matt Griffiths said the Hawks were ecstatic to clock their first win. “It was a fantastic first win of the season,” he said.
Griffiths said he wanted to keep momentum going in the hope of another win.
“If we keep playing like this, we are going to be much-improved team by the end of the season,” he said.
The wins were rounded out by the Hawks inaugural family fun day.
