Coffee and Craft
The Moss Vale CWA Coffee and Craft morning will be held on July 19 from 9.30am until noon. Members will welcome all to their toasty warm rooms at 66 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale for a morning of friendship, fun, laughter with a bit of craft thrown in too. Red Cross AGM
The Moss Vale-Berrima branch of the Red Cross will hold its AGM on July 19 at 2pm. It will be held at the Uniting Church hall in Moss Vale. Geraldine Dayball and Dianne Barr will be the guest speakers. RSVP by July 14 to Tricia O’Keefe on 0414 672 267 or Zelda Williams on 4868 1813.
Woodwork group
Southern Highlands Woodies Group Inc will meet next on July 22. The meeting will be held at Charlton Hall, within and the rear of HarbisonCare, Burradoo. Doors will open at 9am with show and tell of members’ recent works from 11am. There will be a short meeting from 12.30pm followed by a demonstration of turned spheres by Col Hayman from 1pm. Cancer support
The Southern Highlands Cancer Centre Support Group will meet next on July 22. This will be held at the conference room at the Souther Highlands Private Hospital from 10am until 11.30am. Meetings are held monthly with a guest speaker on hand to give a presentation on even months with suggestions of topics always welcome. Miniature railway
Miniature rail enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see mini trains in action at Moss Vale Showground on July 22. The Highlands Miniature Railway will be operating a 5” gauge railway track for public riding at a cost of $2 per ride. The special event will be running full steam ahead from 9:30am until 2:30pm, weather permitting. Visitors can find the railway at the far eastern corner (Robertson end) of the showground, located on the Illawarra Highway.
Energy info session
Two free information sessions will be held in Bowral on July 25. The events will help those who have solar and are interested in batteries and households that do not have solar power system installed, but are interested in either solar and/or batteries. Both sessions will be held at Bowral Bowling Club from 11am-12.30pm and 7-8.30pm. Details: www.eventbrite.com.au and search for ‘battery storage’ or call 1300 516 474.
Frock up and rock up
The BDCU fundraiser Frock Up and Rock Up will be held at Centennial Vineyards on July 28 from 7pm. There will be fortune tellers, a caricaturist, silent auction, raffle and the John Field Band will perform. Tickets $120. RSVP by July 21 on 4861 8701.
Blue Light disco
The next Mittagong Blue Light Disco will be held at Mittagong RSL on July 29 for children four to 14 years of age. $5 per child. It will run from 4-6.30pm. Parents and children under three free.
Child support meeting
The next meeting of Fairness in Child Support will be on August 3. The meeting will start at 7.30pm at the Coniston Community Hall. Details: John Flanagan on 0415 899 574.
