Police attached to Shoalhaven Target Action Group and Highway Patrol conducted the operation around the South Nowra jail.
Various people visiting prisoners within the centre were spoken to and where appropriate certain checks and searches conducted.
As a result three drivers tested positive for driving after having consumed prohibited drugs.
A 49-year-old man tested positive for cannabis, a 54-year-old man tested positive for methylamphetamine and a 22-year-old female tested positive for methylamphetamine.
Those samples will undergo further testing, and if positive, the drivers will be issued court attendance notices.
