The juniors took on Fraser Park at Marrickville on June 25 and played some outstanding football.
Under-9s coach Chris Cash said his team of young footballers has continued to improve each weekend.
“The team is growing in strength each week and they are playing some great football,” he said.
Cash gave special mention to Riley Parsons for taking control up front for the second week, his skill and energy which inspired the team through out the game.
Paddy Burke again backed up a great game in defence.
“He really showed how to take control and didn’t give Fraser Park's forward an inch,” Cash said.
Cash said he was proud of the young team’s commitment and dedication on the field.
“Again I am so proud of this group at how well they are playing and how far they have come this season,” he said.
The Southern Branch Highlands under-10s also played against Fraser Park in Marrickville last weekend.
The football played was at a very high standard from the first whistle for both teams.
The game went end to end for the first 10 minutes until some excellent counter attacking football created Southern Branch’s first goal.
The second half was very much the same and coach Corey Denford commended a number of players on their transitional play.
“Transitional play front to back by Ben, Owen and Tristan have proven that being open to adopting new roles and having the right attitude to apply 100 per cent, has enabled them and this team to take another step forward as great players for our game,” he said.
Throughout the second half the under-10s started to control the match.
“From the middle with Billy and Jamie, right to Evan, Monty and Rowan up the front we were able to create many more chances where we chalked up another two goals,” Denford said.
The extra goals pushed Southern Branch out to a 3-0 victory. making the game 3-0.
“Well done to the kids, Paul and I along with the coaching staff were very proud of them,” Denford said.
