The Hawks travelled to Wollongong to face off against a very skilled Kangaroos outfit.
The Hawks U11's had a great game yesterday against Figtree.
The juniors managed to score a goal and coaches said the team played well against the finely tuned, South Coast team.
Under-11s coach Matt Griffith said Figtree were a strong outfit.
“They were a tall, strong, well-built side,” he said.
Griffiths said the Hawks put on a strong team effort against the Kangaroos.
“They all tried really hard in the backline it was really hard work.”
Despite the loss, Griffiths said it was an opportunity for the Hawks to grow and learn.
“We are going to start looking at making sure we hold some attacking structure,” he said.
“We focused a lot on defence and now we will look at opportunities to kick goals.”
The Hawks Auskickers enjoyed a well thought out game today and welcomed some new players to our club.
The under-9s had a bye but are ready to get back on the field on June 25.
