But the last time she was seen was on Tuesday, June 13.
After almost a week of searching her family has appealed to the community to help bring her home.
Kathleen’s husband David said her family and friends love her dearly and are very worried about her.
“No matter where she is, there is nothing we can’t work through and help her with,” he said.
“[Kathy] come home.”
David said that Kathleen had not been her “usual and contented self” before her disappearance.
“She was preoccupied over the last few days [before she went missing] she had some worries about another family member’s health,” he said.
“Looking back in hindsight you could say she was out of sorts.”
Kathleen was last seen about 12.30pm on June 13 at Mittagong Shopping Village on Pioneer Street, where she was captured on CCTV footage.
David said it was not unusual for Kathleen to leave and go to the shops throughout the day, but not to return was totally out of character.
“So much of her life is within a short radius of home so to be gone for a long period of time is unusual, we were worried by mid afternoon,” he said.
David said he last saw his wife on the corner of Bowral Road and Bessemer Street between 11.30am and 12.30pm on Tuesday.
Initial searches for Kathleen began with a PolAir helicopter on June 14, with an air search of Mount Gibraltar, Lake Alexandra and surrounding areas.
A ground search by SES volunteers and police followed as did a police dive search of Lake Alexandra and 60 Foot Falls.
David has appealed to the community for any information about Kathleen’s whereabouts.
“We would like the community to think back to Tuesday last week and if they may have seen her around that area of Mittagong,” he said.
“Don’t worry how small the detail is, it could be really, really helpful.”
David said he and his family were very impressed with the work of Bowral police in their search.
“Bowral police have been helpful with even smallest issues that have been worth following up,” he said.
Kathleen Lidden was last seen wearing a white scarf, yellow/cream coloured fleece jumper, grey track pants and carrying a brown bag.
Anyone who has seen Kathleen Lidden, or who has information about her whereabouts that could assist police, should contact Bowral Police Station on 4862 9299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/.
Kathleen’s son Aubrey Lidden has asked the Highlands community to assist in the search for his mother.
“Our dearest wish as a family is to find Kathy safe and well as soon as possible,” he said.
Kathleen’s friend, Lucy Turner described her as “an extraordinary person.”
“She is a dedicated and amazing mother to all her children, and created, with her beloved husband David, a generous and loving family culture that touches everyone who know them,” she said.
