At 10am Wingello Public School students, along with thousands of others across Australia, sat down for National Simultaneous Storytime.
National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual campaign that aims to encourage more students to read and enjoy books.
Now in its 17th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant and fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy.
Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.
This year Wingello Public School students read two stories, the designated National Simultaneous Storytime book, The Cow Tripped Over the Moon and How to Catch a Star.
After storytime, students created an artwork based on The Cow Tripped Over the Moon.
