Head coach Rob Wright said the Swifts were their own worst enemy at times and took the pressure off their opponents at crucial moments with silly mistakes.
However, Wright said there were still plenty of positives to take from the match as the Club looks to prepare for its final appearance of the 2017 Suncorp Super Netball this weekend at Qudos Bank Arena.
“We were definitely patchy, but I think (tonight’s game) showed that our very best can compete with anyone,” he said.
The Swifts, led by highlander Abbey McCulloch, will meet the QLD Firebirds at home for their final game and Wright said there are two words that stuck out when looking at the week ahead.
“We’ve talked about competing all year, and we’ve shown that we can compete but we’ve just had lapses. And I think that’s where belief comes in,” he said.
“Belief that we have the skills, belief that we can contest for 60 minutes, and belief in each other to let the ball go.”
