The juniors have completed three rounds of competition and have demonstrated their growing strengths and skills.
Most teams hosted Kiama at home for round two while the under-9 Gold and 2nd XV teams hosted Camden.
The games were played in the afternoon in warm and sunny conditions with no wind. All games were hard fought against some well-drilled opposition.
The under-11s were very unlucky to go down to Kiama by a single point.
Bowral once again played at home in round three, against a mixed bag from Vikings, Kiama, Tech and Shoalhaven.
The usual schedule of morning games were on offer and once again it was sunny and calm.
The representative season has also kicked into gear again. The under-15 and under-16 Illawarra teams played a tournament in Kempsey on May 6 and 7.
The under-15 Illawarriors came fourth and the under-16s placed sixth overall.
The under-15s were expected to do slightly better, and suffered from some simple mistakes that cost them games they would normally would have won.
The under-16s games were all very close. They displayed strong performances against the stronger teams and were commended for the efforts by coaches and club members.
Both teams will compete at the NSW State Championships at Narrabeen over the June long weekend.
Preparations for the under-16 girls 7's competition are continuing.
The Bowral team have been training hard and are looking forward to games starting soon.
The all new girls playing strip has arrived and The Bowral Rugby Club officials said they can't wait to unveil it at their first game.
Details of the first game will be released shortly.
The Illawarra First XV Competition is once again struggling to field sufficient teams to make a worthwhile competition.
Bowral is currently exploring a number of options which include sending a Bowral team to compete in the Sydney competition or developing a Bowral Academy side to play against invited teams in Bowral on a semi-regular basis.
Bowral Blacks Ben Whyte was part of the under-12 representative Illawarriors side who recently competed at NSW Country Championships.
The Country Championships were held at Nowra Rugby Park on Sunday.
The under-12s won the Country Championship after remaining undefeated in each of their games.
Under-13s players Angus Webster and Matt Parkes recently toured New Zealand with the Illawarriors.
The boys palyed their first match against Belfast and unfortunately lost.
The Illawarra team received a bit of a shock when they hot the firld as most of the Belfast boys were 15 or 16 years old
Despite the loss Angus and Matt said the Illawarra team learnt a lot.
Illawarra took a convincing in over the Pirates in their next match.
The Illawarra took an easy win in game three, with a 85-7 victory over Alexandra.
The Aussie boys finished the tour on a high note, with a 110-5 victory over Wakitipu.
Bowral’s Angus and Matt said the tour was a great experience and that they learnt several new skills.
