Cloudy skies did not dampen the spirit and success of the sell-out Youth Solutions Charity Golf Day, which was held at Campbelltown Golf Club on Friday May 19 after the first date was rained out back in March.
The event brought together businesses and individuals from across the community for an afternoon of golf, celebrations and a taste of Youth Solutions’ signature activities.
As part of those signature activities, the players were challenged to identify standard drink amounts and tried their hand at the fatal-vision goggles, which simulate the vision of a person affected by alcohol.
They also got involved with Youth Solutions’ Safer Celebrations initiative, by chalking up messages of advice to young people about celebrating safely.
Youth Solutions Chief Executive Officer Geraldine Dean thanked those who supported the event.
“On behalf of the Youth Solutions family, we would like to thank everyone who turned up to play, sponsored a hole or donated prizes in support of the event. We are very grateful,” she said.
“The funds raised from the Golf Day will help us to continue our important health promotion and drug and alcohol prevention work with young people across Macarthur and Wingecarribee.”
