The Magic suffered an 87-68 loss to Bathurst Goldminers in round 11 of the competition.
The match marked The Magic’s second loss for the 2017 youth league season.
The Magic were down 22-9 at quarter time but by half time Bathurst shot ahead to a 46-24 lead.
The third quarter was the highest scoring quarter for both sides so far, however Bathurst kept hold of their lead, with a 70-46 score heading into the final quarter.
The Magic fought hard in the last quarter but were unable to snatch the lead.
The Magic were in fifth position after their second loss.
Coach Kev Campbell attributed the loss to a “very slow start.”
“We are still in the top six despite our second loss and hopefully we can get back on track with a couple of wins at home against Penrith this Saturday and Springwood the following week,” he said.
The Magic will play at the Moss Vale Basketball Centre on Saturday, May 27 at 5pm.
