Morning Tea

Bush Dance
The Wingello Bush Dance will be held on May 13 at the Wingello Mechanics Institute Hall. The fun kicks off from 6.30pm with the multi-talented Paddy's River Band. This is a great night for all the family and includes hot finger-licking finger food. BYO drinks.Entry is $20 for adults and $10 for children over 12. Bushwalk
Southern Highlands Bushwalkers Inc will head to Hanging Rock Cave and Sacrifice Rock on May 14.This will be a moderate walk between Buxton and Thirlmere Lakes covering about 12kms. The will be some off-track areas and steep sections. Details: David H on 0427 864 251.
View Club celebrations
Southern Highlands Evening VIEW Club celebrates its 41st birthday on May 8 with a get-together at Mittagong RSL Club from 6.30pm. All are encouraged to don their pearls and tiaras.

National servicemen
The next meeting of the National Servicemen’s Association Southern Highlands sub-branch will be held on May 10 at Mittagong RSL Club from 10.30am. Former national servicemen are welcome to attend.
YOTS Op Shop
The Youth off the Streets Op Shop in Bundaroo Street Bowral has done some reorganising and is now able to accept small furniture items. Donations of bedside tables, small book shelves, coffee tables, bedroom and dining chairs are welcome. The shop also accepts donations of books and household electrical items. All funds raised from the sale of items goes to Fr Chris Riley’s Youth off the Streets which supports programs to help young people in rehabilitation.
Rose Society
The next meeting of the Southern Highlands Regional Rose Society will be held on May 18 at the CWA rooms in Winifred West Park, Old Hume Highway, Mittagong from 1pm for a 1.30pm start. Guest speaker will be Paul Kirkpatrick from Estate Gardening, who will give a presentation on “Presenting the Rose” – how roses are presented in parks and gardens around the world. Concert
Enjoy a musical afternoon with the versatile and eclectic pianist John Martin on Saturday, May 20 at 3 pm at The Rose Music Room, 51F Sunninghill Avenue, Burradoo. John is a familiar musician to concert goers and listeners of Australia’s classical radio networks. He will perform works by Sydney composer Mark John McEncroe, and local composer Ann Carr-Boyd. Welsh Choir in Moss Vale
The Welsh Choir of Wollongong will perform at the Moss Vale Uniting Church on the corner of Argyle and Spring Streets on May 21 from 2pm. Entry is by donation and the concert will finish with some community singing. Refreshments are included and will be served after the concert.
Margaret lunch

Myositis Awareness Month
Myositis Association Australia is hosting a get-together at the Gerroa Fisherman's Club in Gerroa on May 10 at 12pm. This will tie in with Myositis Awareness Month. Polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and juvenile myositis are all autoimmune diseases, meaning the body’s immune system is attacking the muscle.
