The three-day 2017 Police Legacy Remembrance Bicycle Ride started at the Domain in Sydney and passed through Mittagong.
The ride ended on April 30 at the National Police Memorial in Canberra on Sunday for a short remembrance service.
Superintendent Danny Sullivan, one of the event organisers and participants, said it’s a great way to raise awareness.
“We are riding to honour those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and the families still suffering from loss and grief,” he said.
“This is the fifth year the ride has taken place and each year more people have jumped on board. Since 2013, we’ve been able to raise nearly $500,000.”
NSW Police Legacy supports more than 20,000 serving and retired police officers and their families during times of tragedy and need. Visit https://2017remembrancebikeride.gofundraise.com.au to donate.
