Afternoon tea
Moss Vale Hospital Auxiliary will hold a pre-Mothers’ Day afternoon tea on May 1. This will be held at Moss Vale Senior Citizen’s and Community Centre in Queen Street, Moss Vale, from 1.30pm. Entry is $8 and there will be a trading table, raffles and a lucky door prize. Details: Penny on 4868 2213.

CWA meeting
The next meeting of the Southern Highlands Evening Branch, CWA NSW will be held on May 4. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at the Mittagong CWA Rooms, Winifred West Park, Old Hume Highway, Mittagong at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start. New members, of any age are very welcome to come along and to see what makes this branch unique. This month’s guest speakers will be Grant and Thao Hannaford talking about about their trips to Nepal and other countries. Anxiety support
The free Moss Vale Anxiety Disorder Support Group meets on the first Saturday of each month at 3pm and the second Wednesday of the month at 10.30am at the Moss Vale Services Club. The support group is open to people with Anxiety Disorders and their friends and family. The group is for over 18s and is not suitable for people with Schizophrenia or PTSD. Bushwalk and camp
There will be a selection of bushwalks on offer at the next gathering of the Southern Highlands Bushwalkers.The group will head to Blackheath where they will have the opportunity to camp and head out on various nearby walks ranging from easy to medium and hard. This activity will be held from May 7 to 12 and cabins, in a range of sizes as well as tent and caravan sites are available. Participants can stay for as many nights as they would like and the walks will be determined each day depending on weather and the group taking part. Members are urged to make their own arrangements for accommodation at the Blackheath Glen Caravan Park on 4787 8101. For details about the activity contact Margaret on 4889 8661.
Church op shop
The Bowral Presbyterian Op Shop will re-open for May. The Op Shop, located in Bendooley Street, Bowral, opposite Corbett Gardens. It will be open from 10am to 4pm on May 5 and 9am to 3pm on May 6. There are lots of new items in stock and plenty of bargains on offer. Come along and browse through the selection of clothes, bric-a-brac, linen, collectables and more. The Presbyterian Church Op Shop is open on the first weekend of each month and all people are welcome.
Morning Tea
Bundanoon CWA will hold a Breast Cancer awareness morning tea on May 11. The morning tea will begin at 10am at the CWA rooms, 45 Railway Avenue, Bundanoon. A donation of $5 towards the McGrath Foundation would be appreciated. All welcome. Enquiries: Dorothy Roach on 0412 097 258 or 4884 4524.
Bush Dance
The Wingello Bush Dance will be held on May 13 at the Wingello Mechanics Institute Hall. The fun kicks off from 6.30pm with the multi-talented Paddy's River Band. This is a great night for all the family and includes hot finger-licking finger food. BYO drinks.Entry is $20 for adults and $10 for children over 12. View Club celebrations
Southern Highlands Evening VIEW Club celebrates its 41st birthday on May 15 with a get-together at Mittagong RSL Club from 6.30pm. All are encouraged to don their pearls and tiaras.

Concert
Enjoy a musical afternoon with the versatile and eclectic pianist John Martin on Saturday, May 20 at 3 pm at The Rose Music Room, 51F Sunninghill Avenue, Burradoo. John is a familiar musician to concert goers and listeners of Australia’s classical radio networks. He will perform works by Sydney composer Mark John McEncroe, and local composer Ann Carr-Boyd. Margaret lunch
