Moss Vale will bring the Magic back home for round seven of the NSW Waratah Youth League Basketball competition.
Moss Vale Magic, who currently hold second position on the youth league ladder, will face-off against the fifth placed Illawarra Hawks on April 22.
The Magic have had a strong start to 2017 and have remained undefeated after four games of competition.
Magic coach Kev Campbell said he hoped to see the community at the Moss Vale Basketball Centre supporting the young team.
“Last home game we had about 140 people here, the Illawarra will bring a few supporters up here this week so we should see even more than that,” he said.
Campbell said the team was in good form to take another victory, having had their best start to the competition in four years.
“The exciting thing for me is that we still haven’t hit our peak and there is still so much to improve on,” Campbell said.
The Magic have adjusted their style this year to better suit the new look of the team.
“We aren’t a big team, our tallest player is 6 feet four inches,” Campbell said.
“We are playing a fast, running game and we’ve got a lot of really good three point shooters.”
The NSW Waratah Youth League competition is a state wide league for players under the age of 22, which means that this year will be the last for captain Bill Campbell.
”It’s Billy’s last year so we are hoping to go out with a bang,” Campbell said.
After 58 years of hard work the Magic won their first senior NSW basketball title in 2015.
”We are hoping to do it again this year,” Campbell said.
“We’ve got some experienced players with cool heads so that should give us an advantage.”
The Magic will have some players out due to injury for the round seven match against Illawarra but Campbell said he was confident in the Magic's ability.
”It’s been tough getting guys here over Easter but I think we are looking pretty good,” he said.
The game will commence at 5pm on April 22.
The bar will be open upstairs and just by attending the game spectators will go into the draw to win $500 on the night in the Mortgage Choice Half Time Shoot Out.
