G.J. Gardner Homes builder David O’Brien has pledged $500 for every new home started in April, 2017, to go to Variety – The Children’s Charity.
He is one of 19 builders in NSW aiming to raise $18,000 for the charity.
“We have been supporting Variety for three years now, and as an organisation have donated over $435,000 already,” he said.
“Variety does incredible work to help empower Aussie kids aged 0-18, who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability. They support children with a vast array of conditions and in all sorts of challenging circumstances.”
Donations received will contribute to a number of regular Variety programs and equipment, including Future Kids Scholarships, Freedom Program (mobility and communication equipment), Care for Kids (medical and hospital support), and Hair with Heart (supplying wigs for kids with alopecia or sudden hair loss).
G.J. Gardner employees also hop to raise another $200,000 through the G.J. Variety Freedom House, where a new house will be constructed at cost price and auctioned in order to raise funds.
