The Highlands will be showcased on a national stage when the Today Show broadcasts from Bradman Oval on April 3.
Karl Stefanovic and Lisa Wilkinson will broadcast the diversity of the region across the 3.5-hour show, beginning at 5.30am.
The visit was organised as part of Channel Nine’s ‘We Love Australia’ tour and was secured by Destination NSW.
Highlanders have been welcomed to attend the event, which will feature lots of prizes, giveaways and a barbecue.
Destination Southern Highlands manager of tourism and events Steve Rosa said Bowral was selected through a pitch.
“We had to pitch Bowral against other NSW destinations and, through the experiences we presented, Bowral was chosen as a destination,” he said.
While the show will be broadcast from Bradman, Natalia Cooper will present the weather from Centennial Vineyards.
A number of exciting and unique Highlands initiatives will also showcased on the Today Show.
The ‘Stay and Play’ golf pass will be promoted to the Today Show’s 1.4 million viewers.
An inflatable driving range will be set up at Bradman and pros from all eight Highlands golf courses will be there giving lessons and demonstrations.
Eight Highlands bakeries will present their pies on the show as part of the Pie Time festival preview.
What do you think Karl and Lisa should experience while they are in the Highlands? Perhaps they should try a famous Highlands pie, visit the spectacular Fitzroy Falls, drop in it Brigadoon or have a win at one our famous vineyards.
