The Brigadoon Face Me portrait competition saw 27 entrants, judged by 2002 Archibald Prize winner Cherry Hood.
She awarded first prize to Bundanoon’s Virginia Boyle, who painted a portrait of her video game fanatic son.
Brigadoon president Thomas-Andrew Baxter said the painting reminded him of Game of Thrones production design.
“This fantasy world of computer games seem to have consciously or subconsciously defined the style of the winning portrait,” he said.
“It is an arresting image and one which Cherry Hood described as the one (of many) that she wanted to take home to hang on her wall.”
Virigina received $1000, sponsored by Glenfiddach Whisky.
Other portraits include likenesses of Jimmy Barnes and Leo Sayer alongside images of residents from Moss Vale, Bundanoon, Bowral, Mittagong, Burrawang and Welby.
The Face Me exhibition is open at the Bundanoon Country Inn until April 2. Viewers can vote for the $500 People’s Choice Award (sponsored by Jordan’s Crossing Real Estate) and enter a $250 fine art printing door pirze (donated by Wild Colour Prints).
