Rina Hore has been awarded the 2017 Wollondilly Woman of the Year award for going above and beyond for the shire.
Ms Hore said she was honoured to have received the award.
“I was tickled to death to even be nominated,” she said.
Ms Hore is the Bradman Foundation executive director, and has had a focus on ensuring the Bradman Centre is a place for every member of the community.
“I believe the Bradman Centre is an integral part of our community, and while we don’t have a huge budget, we are absolutely die hard to do the maximum we can do,” she said.
“This is a community facility and we are merely its caretakers.”
Ms Hore has worked tirelessly to make the Bradman Centre and oval available to the public, including hosting Christmas carol events, sports carnivals and PT groups.
“We like to share the grounds, people just need to let us know if they want to use it,” she said.
Wollondilly MP Jai Rowell nominated Ms Hore for the award, and said her continued leadership was a vital part of the success for the region.
“Rina is one of the most passionate, community-oriented people I have ever had the pleasure to meet,” he said.
