The Southern Highlands Autumn Gardens weekend will feature three town gardens and three country gardens over two days.
Organised by Southern Highland Botanic Gardens members, the gardens are clustered around Bowral, Burradoo, Wildes Meadow and Avoca.
SHBG board member Chris Webb said the selected properties provided great examples of Highlands gardens.
“This is a great showcase of Highlands gardens in all their autumn glory,” he said.
“Visitors can view gardens that are rarely open to the public.”
The featured gardens are:
- Carisbrooke, Bowral
- Retford Park, Bowral
- Yarrawin, Burradoo
- Wildewood, Wildes Meadow
- Dragon Farm, Wildes Meadow
- 5th Chapter Estate, Avoca
The SHBG Plant Fair will be run in conjunction with the garden viewing event.
Mr Webb described the fair as a must for plant enthusiasts.
“The plant fair features an array of rare, unusual and hard-to-find plants, all grown by the SHBG Plant Growers group,” he said.
“There will be everything from Albuca to Zauschneria.”
The Autumn Gardens weekend will take place April 22 and 23 from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The plant fair will be open from 9.00am to 4.00pm on both days.
Tickets are$8 for single entry to each garden, or $40 for a full weekend pass. School children are free.
