Reta South, Margaret Addie, Christie Williams and Shylie Brown won their rink 33-14 while Sylvia Handley, Marian Scriven, Gail Fraser and Fran Post lost 22 - 20.
Both matches had their highs and lows with Sylvia’s team leading all the way, before a determined Picton side won the last end.
Reta’s match was fairly even at the beginning, before they surged ahead.
On the same day, Bowral (2) found the going tough, playing at Crookwell on a very heavy green, they lost on both rinks and went down 52-20.
Enid Brown, Alison Pryce, Beryl Oates and Pam Christensen lost 26-7 and Elaine Jones, Sue Jackson, Jeanette Allen and Fay Jones (filling in for Ann Brenning) went down 26 -13.
In the next match, the two Bowral teams were drawn to play each other.
Both sides went all out but Bowral 1 took the win with 42-36. Sylvia’s team took an early lead and won 25-16 against Enid Brown’s team, while Reta’s team lost 17-20.
