About 30 people put their fitness levels to the test for a fundraising boot camp as Bradman Oval on March 13.
Highlands sisters Jaime Bow (personal trainer) and speech pathologist Mikaela Bow held the boot camp fundraising event for the Global Smile Foundation under the campaign "Mission: TRU 2017".
The campaign hopes to inspire support in offsetting more than $70,000 needed for the Global Smile Foundation's (GSF's) volunteer mission to Trujillo, Peru in May.
GSF is a not-for-profit organistion that aims to alleviate the suffering of underserved children born with facial congenital deformities such as cleft lip and palates.
It contributes to the provision of world-class surgeons, physicians, anesthesiologists, nurses, speech therapists, and nutritionists from around the globe, who support the vision of the Global Smile Foundation: a world where children with craniofacial abnormalities (like cleft palate) get the first-class medical care they need for healthy, happy lives - even those living in developing countries.
Every dollar donated frees up funds for leave-behind donations of medicine, supplies, and equipment for the Trujillo community.
About $1500 was raised through the event at Bradman Oval and donations are still being accepted.
