Sacks were raced and potatoes balanced at a unique Robertson Show event.
The Spud Olympics were held March 10, and school children enthusiastically threw themselves into the sport.
The RFS Robertson Brigade helped coordinate the event, which involved a potato sack race, potato-and-spoon race, and a potato relay.
Captain Brendan Waters said it helped expend some of the children’s energy.
“We used to help the Robertson CTC run the event, and then we took over about five years ago,” he said.
The children received a RFS showbag once they completed the events.
The Spud Olympics were created when the equine flu prevented horses from being transported in Australia.
The event was so popular, it has been a regular fixture ever since.
