The Highlands expat has expanded his city-based finance firm to better serve clientele in his home town.
“I always wanted to set up a practice in the Highlands, half of my client base is here anyway – now they can benefit from face-to-face service and not as much email and phone contact,” he said.
Mr Miller runs First Class Wealth, which he said focused not just on finances, but emotional connections with clients.
“Everyone has a reason why they do what they do, mine is because of my health.”
He said his team was united by their shared experience of challenges.
“We’ve all had health issues, or major issues in our lives, that accentuate the importance of wealth or safety from the future,” he said.
Mr Miller, financial planner and First Class Wealth director, was diagnosed with Crohns disease at 18 years of age. Had he known the options available to him at the time, he said he would have saved himself a great deal of stress.
“If I’d known you could get insurance at that age it would have provided a buffer for myself and family. That’s the kind of focus we offer,” he said.
“We don’t deal with transactions, we focus on relationships and emotional connections – being part of your life.”
Mr Miller looks forward to running free, educational weekend workshops in the Highlands to educate people about the “options available to them other than their bank accounts”.
