Tourism and events manager Steve Rosa said the team looked forward to working with Redkite, the charity partner of the 57th annual Tulip Time festivities.
“We think Redkite is the perfect fit for Tulip Time and we couldn’t be happier with their involvement.”
Redkite is one of Australia’s leading national cancer charities, with over 30 years’ experience providing professional and essential support to children and young people living with cancer – including their families.
In 2016, Redkite supported more than 1040 people from NSW – including seven families from the Southern Highlands. Across the country the figure exceeds 3700 people each year.
“There’s no doubt being involved in the festival brings an enormous profile to our partners and we’re confident this year’s festivities will help shine a light on the fabulous work that Redkite undertakes,” Mr Rosa said.
Redkite general manager of marketing and fundraising Monique Keighery said the Redkite team was excited for the partnership.
“The opportunity to introduce ourselves to the local community and the thousands of visitors who attend the festival will make a significant difference to the lives of children with cancer and their families.”
Ms Keighery said the generosity of Tulip Time’s visitors would ensure Redkite could provide practical, must-have support to more kids and families who needed it, including information, counselling and financial assistance. “When their lives are turned upside down emotionally and financially by cancer, we need to be here for them,” she said.
Ms Keighery said being part of a community event with such a strong legacy would help Redkite reach even more Southern Highlands families in need of support.
Tulip Time celebrations in 2017 will run for 13 days from September 12 until September 24. For more information visit www.tuliptime.net.au. To donate or learn more about Redkite visit www.redkite.org.au.
