Council has launched its 2017 community assistance scheme and will distribute up to $130,000 to assist not-for-profit organisations.
Programs, equipment or capital works plans that aim to create or improve the cultural, sporting, welfare, health, community development or leisure services in the Highlands can be funded. A total of $10,000 will be available for environmental and sustainable programs, through council’s environment levy.
More than 50 projects were supported last year, and funding helped purchase equipment for sporting groups, set up a school energy project, purchase defibrillators and renovate a communal kitchen.
Under the scheme, three types of funding are available: donations up to $600, environmental grants up to $2000 and general grants up to $7000.
This year all applications for donations and grants must be submitted online. 2017 guidelines and applications are available at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/wingecarribee-community-assistance-scheme.
The Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme closes at midnight on March 31. For more information or assistance, call council on 4868 0855 or email community.development@wsc.nsw.gov.au.
