About 7pm, police from The Hume Target Action Group responded to reports of a Holden Commodore leaving the rail corridor at Aylmerton.
Soon after, officers visited a home on Ethridge Street, Mittagong where they searched a Holden Commodore located at the house and found copper cable.
Police will allege a further 300m of copper cable was located and seized at the home.
Police arrested two men, aged 31 and 39, and took them to Bowral Police Station.
The 39-year-old man was charged with larceny and enter/remain in running lines.
He appeared at Goulburn Local Court on February 24 and was refused bail.
He will appear at Campbelltown Local Court on March 1.
The 31-year-old man was charged with larceny, enter/remain in running lines and driving while cancelled.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Moss Vale Court on April 4.
Police investigations will continue.
