‘Selfish’ attitudes
We certainly have more than our share of petty, small minded, selfish people in this shire. The argument against the Centennial Wines proposal to allow “Day on the Green” entertainment is truly pathetic.

To think that anyone would begrudge this community the opportunity to have world class entertainment because for just a few nights a year they may toss and turn. I’m told there was only one complainant but if there were more then shame on them for their selfishness.
I also understand that there are people trying to stop the development at Southern Highlands Wines at Moss Vale - again selfish people with no interest in community benefit and no sympathy for those needing jobs.
This is a world-class development which would be unanimously welcomed by anywhere but Wingecarribee.
The development will bring a large monetary benefit to this Shire and create 80 permanent jobs. It is aesthetically brilliant and would enhance the amenity of that area, not be detrimental.
Shame on the selfish knockers!

Ask the right questions
I wish to alert all in the Highlands about the increasing tendency for some organisations to pass on costs associated with the purchase of replacement parts for machinery that was purchased from that same store.
I recently was in need of some replacement harrow rings for a paddock harrow purchased from a Highlands business.
The parts arrived with a $25 freight charge.
When in need of any parts or equipment it is imperative as customers to ask about all fees and charges and any additional costs associated with the item.
So, ask the question or when you do receive the bill don’t be surprised.
They are in business to make a profit and you are their opportunity to do this.
