2017 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Award

Don’t let the community contributions of our seniors go unnoticed.

Nominations are now open for the 2017 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards, where seniors’ will be celebrated across a broad range of categories.

Seniors can be nominated for their contributions and achievements in business, environment, science, agriculture, health and wellbeing, learning and community service.

Minister for ageing Tanya Davies said seniors were valued and respected members of the community.

“Whether it is volunteering for a charity, lending a helping hand to a local sporting club or caring for a loved one, older Australians do so much to make our families and communities stronger,” she said.

Nominations for the 2017 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards are open until March 1. They will be presented as part of NSW Seniors Festival, held March 3 to March 12.

It is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere. An estimated 300,000 seniors are expected to attend more than 1,000 free and discounted events throughout the state during the festival.

The Wingecarribee Seniors Festival will also be held March 3 to March 12 in 2017.
