The Bong Bong Swimming Carnival brought together the smaller Highlands schools at the Bowral Swimming Centre.
The Berrima, Exeter. Penrose, Avoca, Kangaloon, Glenquarry, Wingello, Burrawang and Tallong public schools were all represented.
A Bong Bong Swimming Carnival record was broken by Burrawang Year 6 student Ella.
She swam the 100m freestyle in 1.23 minutes. This is the first record she has broken.
Ella trains three times a week with the Moss Vale Swim Club and Moss Vale Training Squad.
“I like swimmng because it’s calming and relaxing,” she said.
“It’s much better than running, you can’t feel yourself sweating or puffing as much.”
