McCulloch will play as captain on February 18 with Paige Hadley as her deputy for the inaugural Super Netball league that will replace the former ANZ Championship.
McCulloch and Paige were informed by head coach Rob Wright of their captaincy responsibilities back in January.
The Swifts will play for their round one match against the Giants with their first official home game against the Adelaide Thunderbirds in round two on February 25 at Qudos Bank Arena.
Eight Australian teams will contest in the inaugural competition, which will have 14 rounds of competition followed by the finals.
The Swifts will compete in seven prime-time Saturday evening matches, plus three games each on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons in the inaugural season.
After this year’s roster announcement NSW Swifts head coach Rob Wright said he took a long-term view when assembling the team of players.
“2017 represents a new chapter in Australian netball history, and I think this playing group perfectly articulates the new journey our club is about to embark on,” Wright said.
Wright said the Club is on a re-building phase after losing the majority of its senior players after the 2016 season but is excited about the potential of the next generation of players.
“We’re not after a quick fix; this process will take time. But I truly believe these players are the group to lead us forward. They’re the future of international netball, and the future of this club.”
