Councillors discussed a proposed change to Old South Road.
Mayor Ken Halstead moved a motion to remove the existing 10-tonne load limit on Old South Road, between Kangaloon Road and Boardman Road.
He also put forward that a 10-tonne limit be imposed on Boardman Road.
“We do not want the people of East Bowral confronted with heavy trucks,” he said.
“And it’s not just about that, there’s a preschool on that road.”
Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the motion, which will see the load limits adjusted.
The matter has been referred to the Traffic Committee to be implemented.
