The Highlander was part of a 21-man team that was selected to play in the trial match against the Goldcoast Titans at ANZAC Oval.
The Titans took a 6-2 lead at halftime after a hotly contested first half.
With 10 minutes remaining the Eels were ahead 18-12 but lost 30-18 after the Titans made a hard comeback.
