Ash Brown was a former standout for the Lions but decided to retire from the game five months ago.
After a short retirement, Brown decided to dust off his boots and re-sign with the first grade team for the 2017 Group 6 competition.
The Lions referred to Brown as a “local legend” and the team said they were excited to have him back on the field as part of the squad.
The Mittagong Lions will be the only Highlands team in the first grade Group 6 competition.
The new-look first grade side will take to the field in 2017 under the guidance of a new coach.
Dan Beardshaw said he would work with the club as a whole to focus on player development.
The club has welcomed new members and players to the club in 2017.
