The Local Region Arts Engagement Dashboard profiles how people engage with the arts.
Data has shown 32 per cent of Highlanders aged over 15 participate in arts and cultural activities, compared to 25 per cent of all Australians.
Highlanders are also very involved with visual arts, with 28 per cent of residents participating in the medium compared to 14 per cent of people in Sydney Outer West and Blue Mountains.
Australia Council for the Arts chief executive Tony Grybowski said the data would help better inform and understand how people engage with the arts in their communities.
“This is invaluable for all levels of government, locally-based artists and arts organisations, touring programs and businesses operating in the sector,” he said.
