Ha Ha Hair’s Paul Stone has organised a fundraiser to help the disadvantaged learn hairdressing skills to improve their quality of life.
He will be flying to Quezon City, Philippines, to teach basic hairdressing and provide equipment.
“I’m collecting children’s books, pencils and other items to give to the kids,” he said.
“I expect it will be a humbling experience – we get so caught up in having everything straight away, where they have nothing but are still happy and appreciative.”
The fundraiser will be held at Tooses Wine Bar and Lounge, Moss Vale, on January 22 from 12.30pm. Tickets are $50 and guests can bid on the silent auction while Clive Suarez entertains the crowd. Call 4869 4490 for tickets.
Money raised will go towards Mr Stone’s work with Hair Aid, a non-for-profit organisation that provides hair cutting training to provide livelihood skills to low income individuals and families: www.hairaid.org.au.
