Bridge club
The Bowral Bridge Club has resumed for 2017. The club hosts weekly games at Bowral Golf Club on Kangaloon Road. It plays duplicate bridge using the Standard American system. Playing times are Monday from 12.45pm until 4pm and Thursdays from 9.45am until 1pm. Visitors are welcome. Details: 0400 247 198.

Coffee and crafts
Moss Vale CWA will hold its first coffee and craft gathering for 2017 on January 18 at the rooms at 66 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale.This will be held from 9.30 am - midday and all are welcome. Farmers Market
The Railway Street Farmers Market are held on the old bowling greens on the corner of Railway and Spring Street, Moss Vale, every Thursday. They run from 3pm to 6pm and offer a great selection of quality fresh, locally grown and produced fruit, vegetables (including organic), wine, gourmet food and more. Woodies group
The Southern Highlands Woodies Group Inc meets on the fourth Saturday of each month at Charlton Hall, Burradoo. The groups schedule of demonstrations an topics for 2017 has been finalised and includes: January – Mike Hurley, tool shaping techniques; February – Luke Reurich, detail turning Australian timbers; March – Mike Darlow, outboard turning; April – Keith Smith and Stan Buick from Macarthur Woodturners, inside out turning; May – team bowl turning; June – Ken Sullivan, ornament detailing; July – Rees Bunker, weed/flower vases and Colin Hayman, turning spheres; August – Ian Pye, segmented turning and Club AGM; September – Mike Darlow – rattle/scoop turning; October – Martin Nadas, polmer clay opportunities; November – surprise event.
