You don’t have to travel outside of the Highlands for further education opportunities.
See what’s on offer at TAFE NSW when the Moss Vale campus opens its doors for a showcase week.
January 16 to 20 will be the first time TAFE NSW campuses across the state have combined for an “open week” experience that allows potential students to immerse themselves in the experience of TAFE study.
Making decisions about the future is much easier when the resources are on-hand to make an informed choice.
Students will be able to soak up first-hand experiences at the campus, with information about its course offerings, employer partnerships, technology and current students at the ready.
Institute director Belinda Mackinnon said TAFE had a large offering of study options.
“There are more than 1200 courses, from certificates through to degrees,” she said.
“Whether you’re looking for a career in technology, fashion, horticulture, aged care or construction, come and discover TAFE NSW’s vast array of courses.”
Ms Mackinnon said the showcase was a great opportunity to receive one-on-one course advice, meet teachers, see live demonstrations, and go on campus tours.
Nine other TAFE institutes across more than 130 campuses throughout NSW will collectively highlight the extensive study options and facilities available through TAFE, a state-wide event which is expected to attract more than 40,000 people.
There will be live activations and demonstrations across the state, as well as interactive signature events, such as animal care students working at a wildlife sanctuary and hospital, a virtual band rehearsal enabling interaction with recording artists, games development and a robotics demonstration. These will be live-streamed through Facebook.
The Moss Vale campus will be open with extended hours all week from 8.30am to 6pm, while a showcase evening will be held from 3pm to 6pm on Thursday, January 19. Tours and information sessions will be available. Moss Vale campus is located on Kirkham Street, Moss Vale.
