Some great results lately from our local police with the arrest of people we believe are responsible for a lot of the property theft throughout Goulburn and the Southern Highlands.

We saw a spike in property theft, particularly stealing from motor vehicles in Goulburn over recent weeks, but with the arrest of these people that trend will turn around back to our usual low levels.
However this does not mean people can leave their vehicles unlocked whilst unattended. Many of the victims of these incidents, well over half, had left their vehicle unlocked so please take the time to lock your cars. Do not make it any easier for these grubs to steal your property!
I would also like to encourage the use of the new NSW Police Force Community Portal. The NSW Police Force (NSWPF) Community Portal is a new website launched by the NSWPF, in collaboration with Service NSW.
The community now have additional channels for reporting lost property, stealing, intentional damage and graffiti incidents – when no emergency exists and immediate investigation by police is not necessary.
All you need to do is create an account with Service NSW (the one-stop shop for all NSW Government Services) then connect with the NSWPF where they'll be able to complete a report. You can do this right from the comfort of your home, workplace or outdoor location with the power of the internet and a mobile device.
All of this leads to a more seamless experience for both the community and police, while allowing our officers to be more accessible within their community.
One more thing, coming into Christmas, a problem that popped up last year was an issue with Christmas hampers being stolen after being left on the front door steps of houses.
I would encourage those expecting hampers to contact your suppliers and get them to deliver the hamper personally, if possible. I would hate anyone to go without this Christmas.
