Bridie Sampson, from Wingello, has been working to bring night markets to the Highlands.
The 25-year-old, who has a three-year-old and a six-week-old, said she wanted to bring family-friendly night markets to the area after experiencing them during a holiday in Queensland.
“We came back and thought, ‘there’s not much for young families to do in the evenings, so can we do this?’,” she said.
“I thought the markets would be a good chance to showcase the area and give families a place to go at least once a month.”
The Southern Highlands Night Market will launch December 17, and be held the fourth Saturday of each month from January, 2017.
Bridie said the night market would have an emphasis on children’s activities.
“The markets already held in the area are fantastic, so I wanted to put on a night market option for families and the community as a point of difference,” she said.
“This will give the chance for those who work weekends to come to a market event.

“I’m hoping it will be a night you don’t want to miss out on, one you look forward to each month. It will be a night to spend with family and friends.”
The Southern Highlands Night Market will be held December 17 from 5.00pm to 8.30pm at the Moss Vale Showgrounds. Entry on the night is free.
